Get Psyched for the Spring Season in the Flagstaff Hinterlands Dignan is ready for Limestone!

Sandstone Will Suffice...

We have almost survived another season of gate lockage...plastic pulling, climbing circuits at the draw, traveling to foreign boulders, and even sinking so low as to climb on the crumbly dacite of Mt. Elden... but Winter is finally coming to a close in Flagstaff. The gates barring access to the forest roads will be open soon, permitting passage to the freshie limestone roof projects.

Prescott Granite

Finally got down to the Prescott area to check out a sick overhanging granite project. It climbs a short arete up to an overhanging block with big spans and rad compression. Andrew Rothner dispatched the project quickly and dubbed it Dose of Thunder, a nice 5 star addition to the bouldering here in Northern Arizona. Thomas and Ethan we're both super close using the same beta as Andrew, with a high committing heel hook and big cross crux ending. After trying the same beta for a few hours to no avail, I discovered a short folk sequence with a sick toe hook hand match on the left undercling, allowing an easy reach to the left sloper, followed by a left heel and bump to the next sloper.
